Charanjeet Channi must resign for illegal involvement in mining trade: Sukhpal Khiara


Chandigarh: Sukhpal Singh Khaira, the leader of opposition in Punjab Assembly  demanded the resignation of Cabinet Minister Charanjeet Singh Channi for his illegal involvement in mining trade.

Khaira leveled corruption charges of his alleged involvement in send mining through his nephew.

As per media reports Khaira alleged that Malikpur mine in district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Kuldeep Singh son of Kamaljeet Singh, resident of Ludhiana. Kuldeep Singh is the business partner of Minister’s nephew Bhupinder Singh alias Honey.

Khaira said that Bhupinder Honey has floated a firm named Punjab Realtors Co. to get contracts of sand mining. “The case clearly shows that black money was invested in contract as the said company‘s budget is very small scale and was not able to get big contracts”, he said.

During press conference Khaira shows photo of Bhupinder Honey and Kudaratdeep Singh with Minister Charanjeet Channi , Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Chief Minister Capt. Amrinder Singh. He said that it shows that the contactor has deep links with the congress leaders.

Khaira asked the Punjab Government to mark an inquiry in the case by a commission under sitting or retired judge of High Court.
