Kapoorthala: An unfortunate incident of burning of Holy Five Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and Gutkas  in a local Gurdwara of village Ramgarh, ancestral village of AAP leader Sukhpal Singh khair, has come to fore.

Five Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib and 35 gutkas were found partially damaged in fire, which broke out due to a fan, at a gurdwara, opposite  B.S.N.l Exchange. The Saroops were kept in the ‘wooden made sukhaasan’ room at the gurdwara.

There has not a permanent granthi in Gurdwara Sahib,  A Akhandpathi Harjinder Singh performed Nitname in gurdwara in morning and evening.

“The fire was caused due to a plastic fan installed close to the ‘birs’. The fan was said to be running since morning and the devotee, who came to pay obeisance in gurdwara, forgot to turn it off. It caught fire and Five Saroops were partially burnt” reads a quote in The Tribune.
