Kharar Court to pronounce decision on 3 Feb against Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara




Chandigarh: A Kharar court heard a 12 years old case against Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, lodged in Tihar Jail Delhi. The case registered in the Kharar police station under FIR 144, dated 15/06/2005 under Section 25 of Arms act, 4 and 5 of Explosive and Substances act.

A Kharar court had issued production warrants against Bhai Hawara on 5 August, 2005, but there was no further action in this case since then.  According to media reports Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that they had filed an application in the Kharar court, seeking status of the case, on March 1st, 2017.


Responding to the application the Punjab Police told the Kharar court that Bhai Hawara was wanted in this case and after this, the court had issued the production warrant of Bhai Hawara to Tihar jail, but citing the alleged security reasons, authority did not present before the court.

Later the SHO of police station, Kharar told the court that the police could not present Bhai Hawara in the court. On November 27, 2017, the SHO told the court that police do not want to take any action against Bhai Hawara in this case.

While hearing the case, Kharar sub-divisional judicial magistrate Ekta Uppal, today reviewed the police and defense’s submissions. The court has fixed the date February 3rd, 2018 to pronounce decision in this case.
