Replica of Sri Darbar Sahib at Mastuana: Purshotam Singh Phaguwala announce to restart agitation



Sangrur: After cancelling the visit proposed visit by four-member SGPC panel, to inspect the alleged Sri Darbar Sahib Harimandir Sahib replica at Mastuana Sahib, United Akali Dal (UAD) general secretary Purshotam Singh Phaguwala, who is campaigning against the replica, today announced to restart his agitation.

As per report the panel members said they would visit the alleged replica and complete their probe within stipulated period of one month.

SGPC panel wanted to visit to inspect of the Gurdwara’s building, a replica of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar, constructed at Mastuana Sahib. But fearing of protest from residents of 20 villages, they didn’t visit the site.

“All four members are working under the pressure of SAD leaders from the area. The panel was formed on January 23, but it has failed to visit the replica till date. Its management has been instigating area residents against me and I am getting threats,” alleged Phaguwala.

“Except a meeting on January 27 at Nankiana Sahib, the panel members have done nothing so far. In fact panel members are delaying action for reasons best known to them,” he alleged.

Denying the allegations, Panel and SGPC member Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan said they had cancelled the inspection due to a religious function at Longowal.

“However, we will inspect it within a few days and prepare our detailed report and submit it to the SGPC within a month as directed by SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal”, he said.
