SAD to force Govt to re-include chapters related to Sikh history in class 12 book

Chandigarh: As per the media reports the SAD on Monday decided to hold a meeting of its core committee on May 3 to force Punjab Government to re-include chapters related to Sikh Gurus and Sikh History , which has removed from class 12 history book.

SAD chief Sukhbir Badal took serious note of the Congress government’s “bid to belittle and insult the glorious history of the Sikh Gurus”.

Former Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema briefed the party as to how the 23 chapters had been deleted and replaced with a half-page description on this period of Sikh history.

He said instead of admitting this gross mistake, CM Capt Amarinder Singh was trying to deceive Punjabis by stating that these chapters had been shifted to the Class XI history book.

“The entire syllabus as well as chapter-wise contents of the Class XI book are available on the Internet and it does not contain the 23 chapters on the era of the Sikh Gurus. It has only five chapters devoted to the Sikh history,” he claimed.
