Barnala: To probe Sacrilege incidents of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Justice Ranjit Singh Inquiry Commission on Wednesday visited areas of Barnala district and recorded the statements of witnesses.

The Justice Ranjit Singh Inquiry Commission appointed by the state government to investigate incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and other religious scriptures in the state.

Justice Ranjit Singh (retd) went to Khattar Patti near the Kulwant floor mill, Tapa, and then visited the Ugoke bus stand. At both places, the sacrilege incidents of Guru Granth Sahib had come to light in November 2015.

SAD chief haD refused to reply

In a memorandum submitted to the Governor, SAD chief Sukhbir Badal had said a deep-rooted conspiracy, having international ramifications, was behind the sacrilege incidents

When asked to share information, Sukhbir shot off a communication to the commission stating that he had ‘resolved not to reply’

The panel has set March 16 as the deadline for him to respond
