Wife complains of Gurbani Beadbi against husband, arrested

Sangrur:  As per media reports a man allegedly tore a ‘gutka’ (holy book) after a spat with his wife in his house at Moolowal village under Dhuri Sadar police station last evening.

The police arrested Kesar Singh and registered a case under Section 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) of the IPC on the complaint of his wife, Harjeet Kaur.

The Tribune reported that Harjeet told the police that Kesar started quarrelling with her over a petty issue. In a fit of rage, he tore a ‘gutka’ and threw it on the ground, she alleged.

“We are conducting an investigation,” said Sukhdip Singh, Sadar SHO.
